Hey
I’m Melissa! A Pittsburgh based union costumer, freelance designer, and wardrobe stylist.
I began my career in 2012 as a hair stylist. Working frequently on independent productions, I had often been asked to juggle hair, makeup, and costumes. That soft introduction to the world of costumes allowed me to fall deeply in love with the process, psychology, and art of it all. I have since transitioned into full-time costuming and styling.
Working predominantly in film and television, I’ve been a part of a range of diverse projects and bring a unique sense of professionalism and care to my rolls on and off of set. My costuming experience includes work on both independent and studio/network productions, costuming talent such as Glenn Close, Jeff Daniels, Jeremy Renner, Andra Day, Pedro Pascal, Harry Melling, and others. Design experience includes work for Sony, TROMA, and a range of commercials and independent film productions,. Styling clients have included Travel Channel, Men’s Health, West Virginia State Tourism, Mitsubishi, Misfits, Matel, PA Lottery, and more.
I’m currently designing The Gymnast, a raw, fearless feature film set in early 1990’s Pittsburgh by award-winning filmmaker Charlotte Glynn.
